    Music Therapy Course

A Distance Learning Diploma Course of 8 Lessons

This course aims to provide an understanding of how music can be used as a tool to improve well-being. On a personal level, this course takes you from understanding people by the songs they like, through to using song-writing as an expression for our pent-up thoughts, feelings and emotions. From the perspective of the therapist, the course can help you best select the background music you use, depending on the therapy purpose. However, the emphasis is on how the therapist can use music therapy as a tool to improve the lives of their clients.

Music therapy is a therapeutic art that focuses on the emotional, social or spiritual aspects of an individual’s life through sound production. Music therapy can help people express the feelings that they are unable to verbalize. Sometimes this may be because of difficulties communicating, while at other times words will not do enough for the emotions and music provides an alternative solution.

Please note: You cannot claim to be a “Music Therapist” with a diploma level qualification, but you will find it immensely useful to support any existing qualifications you may hold in Holistic Therapies.

Public Liability Insurance is not available for this subject.

This course will enable the therapist to use music as a therapy alongside other therapies in their portfolio.
