We are always available to answer any of your questions if they are not included here. Simply telephone or email us! Enjoy every minute of our ‘interactive distance learning’ study from the comfort of your home!

Our Tutored and Self Study courses are provided via ‘distance learning’. Course material and qualification is the same, whichever study method you choose.

1. Choose Tutored or Self Study?

By choosing to take a Tutored Course; you will be working with one of our ‘Professional Tutors’ who will be assigned to you personally.

At the end of each lesson you will find a short Question Paper for you to complete and email back. Your Tutor will mark your work and return it to you with helpful comments. You will receive a percentage mark for each answer paper you submit, along with any helpful and relevant comments. In this way you will be receiving ‘Ongoing Feedback’ throughout your studies. You may contact your Personal Tutor via email whenever you need extra help.

Tutored courses provide that ‘extra support’ for people who like, or need additional feedback and guidance throughout their studies.

Our response time for tutored coursework is 3 – 5 working days excluding weekends and public holidays.

There is a final paper at the end of each course which will be sent to you by email on request, once you have completed your course/courses. This is an ‘open book’ exam including questions on the entire course, this means you will have your course material to refer to. We like the completed exams returned within 7 days if possible.  Request your exam when you have completed your revision

When you enrol for a Self Study Course;  Students send their answer papers to our ‘Self Study Team by email, three answer papers at a time. Your work is assessed but you are not given a percentage mark. If you are making serious errors you will be asked to repeat the question, but apart from that, feedback is minimal. If you need ‘occasional assistance’ a member of the Self Study team will be available to help you by email. However students who are continually asking questions will be recommended to upgrade to Tutored. Your work is not returned to you with this method.

Our response time for self study coursework is 4 – 6 working days excluding weekends and public holidays.

We recommend this much more economical system to students who are familiar with studying, and require the minimum amount of feedback with their coursework. In our experience, Self Study students usually have a broad background knowledge of the subject they are studying. They are also familiar with studying methods in general.

You can upgrade to Tutored from Self Study at any time, should you feel that you need more feedback, by simply paying the difference in fees (pro rata).

2. Do you have any Sample Pages I can see before I enrol?

You are very welcome to request ‘sample pages’ from any of our courses that are of interest to you.
Please email enquiries@naturalhealthcourses.com

3. How difficult will it be to understand and learn from the course material?

As our courses are written especially for ‘distance learning’ everyone will find our coursework informative and enjoyable! Topics are covered with easy to understand explanations and where relevant, detailed diagrams accompany our course material.

4. How do I receive my coursework?

Course work is downloaded in PDF format from your account area on our website. You may save the material to the hard-drive of your PC, and print out your lessons to study away from your computer, if you prefer.

Your coursework is available in Modules of 3 lessons at a time. Our procedures are laid down by the accrediting bodies who approve our courses. They stipulate that students work must either be marked or assessed, prior to us releasing the next module.

Coursework in Hard Copy is only available within the EU, and when payment is made in full on enrolment. (Special Offers do not apply). Additional Charges are: £29.50 per course.

5. Will I receive a qualification when I finish my course?

Yes, on successful completion of any of our courses, students will receive a ‘Practitioner/Therapist level Diploma’. This is sent to you, by email, in PDF format, for you to print, frame and display on the wall of your ‘treatment room’.

If you would like to receive a hard copy of your diploma, by post, an additional fee is required.

Cost per qualification including postage:

  • UK – £20
  • Outside UK – £25

6. Do I need to do any practical work?

With ALL Hands-On Therapy Courses: Acupressure; Aromatherapy; Holistic Massage Therapy; Hopi Ear Candling; Hot Stone Therapy; Indian Face Massage; Indian Head Massage; Kinesiology; Reflexology, Shiatsu and Aura & Chakra Energy Healing.

Please arrange your own team of volunteers to coincide with your enrolment for any ‘hands-on’ therapy subject. We ask you to begin working with these people as soon as you commence your studies. You will need to put into practise every procedure that you are covering in your lessons. We advise you to select individuals who are close to you, whom you feel comfortable with, and who have no serious ailments. You will need detailed feedback from these volunteers to build your confidence, and perfect your techniques. Should you experience any problems during this initial period, this is the time to ask us for assistance. It is our role as ‘professional trainers’, to provide support on an on-going basis.

This is your opportunity to gain valuable ‘hands on’ experience, throughout your course, and, prior to working with your ‘paying clients’, once you have graduated.

Case Studies:
We require a minimum of three ‘case-studies’ from three different volunteers, nine treatments in total. These need to be written up and submitted to us prior to your final examination (theory). We provide everyone with guidelines, on how to conduct this Practical Work. If you need additional assistance or advice, our ‘friendly team’ are at your disposal.

This really is the ‘fun part’ of your course, working with real people, assessing your own results, and obtaining feedback from your volunteers. Enjoy this vital part of your training, which will pay dividends later, in your career as a Professional Therapist.

n.b. Students who do not wish to submit a case study programme, for reasons of their own (i.e. disability, illness, etc) will be awarded our accredited diploma, with the additional wording (Theory) added after the course title e.g. SNHS Dip. Indian Head Massage (Theory).

7. Can I work as a Therapist once I have completed any of your courses?

Yes you can!

Start your own Business – As a qualified therapist you may start your own business, renting a treatment room for yourself or with another therapist. Advertising your therapies in the fields you have studied.

Or seek employment – It could be in a stand-alone spa or franchise, even your local salon. Cruise ships are going mad for Holistic Therapists and beauty workers, and are constantly hiring. Gyms, fitness centres, yoga studios and detox retreats are commonly offering a large selection of massages and holistic treatments to satisfy customer needs and compliment their businesses.

On successful completion of any of our courses, you will receive a ‘Practitioner/Therapist level Diploma’. Our courses are accredited and recognised around the world.

For the full listing of these independent ‘Professional Bodies’, see our Accreditation page.
Their Membership packs include referral to Insurance Companies for your Public Liability Insurance.

8. How long does it take to complete a course?

Fit Your Studies Around A Busy Lifestyle!

We do not impose any time limits on the completion of our courses. You simply work through the lessons at your own pace, free from the restrictions and pressures of working to deadlines.

On average students take approximately 200 hours to complete a non advanced course and in excess of 300 hours to complete an advanced course, plus time for ‘practical work’ with your volunteers for any ‘hands-on’ therapy.

Many individuals come to us with some knowledge of the subject/subjects they will be studying, whilst others will be starting from beginner level. For this reason time-scales will vary as every individual has a different threshold for learning. Every student has the opportunity to produce their best work, under the most ‘favourable and relaxed conditions’.

Study breaks are welcome and our courses will not expire!

9. What is the 'Fast Track' Service?

Students who are able to dedicate ‘full time’ to their studies may wish for a ‘speedier turn-around’ of their coursework. To help, we have introduced a ‘Fast Track Service’ especially for you! To apply for this service you need to pay in full for your course/s when you enrol.

For Self Study courses, we have allocated a ‘dedicated team member’ to monitor this service. The additional fee is: £30 per course or £125 per Special Course Pack.

For Tutored courses, the Tutors will give priority to ‘Fast Track’ students. The additional fee is: £40 per course or £175 per Special Course Pack.

A ’24 hour’ turn-around is our aim. We work from Monday to Friday, so please send your ‘Fast Track’ coursework to us in good time, to avoid a delay over weekends and public holidays.

10. Can I contact anyone who has studied with you?

Yes you can! You will find our graduates from the UK and all around the World on the following pages:

11. Do I need to purchase any textbooks to accompany the courses?

13. Do I need to study every week?

No, you are free to study when you have the time to devote to your studies. Our flexible approach gives everyone the opportunity to take time to produce their best work. Our courses will not expire! Students can be comfortable with this approach, knowing if they take breaks away from studying they can return at any time in the future.

14. What title would I use after graduating from your School?

How you decide to market yourself is your decision, whether it is therapist, advisor, consultant etc. However, as we train Practitioners, our graduates will call themselves Therapists in their particular field of specialisation. 16. Do I have to travel anywhere to study these courses?

There is no travelling involved. Students submit answers, by email, at the end of each lesson and again at the end of each course. Plus, there is a case study submission required for all practical ‘hands on’ therapies.

17. If I enrol for more than one course or a Course Pack, do I have to study all the subjects together?

You may complete your course subjects in any order that you choose. Some students prefer to take their courses one at a time, while others like to study them all together. The choice is yours.

18. Is it possible to change my course selection once I have enrolled?

Yes, it is possible. However, there is an administration charge of £19.50 for each course changed, if not started. Or calculated on a pro rata basis if studies have begun. If you are not sure of all of your courses when you enrol simply select two courses and decide on the other subjects at a later date.

19. Can I resume my studies after an extended break?

Yes, you can! We make a small charge of £25 to re-instate your records (Applies only to students who enrolled prior to October 2015). This is in addition to any course lessons that need to be re-sent see Question 19.

20. What happens if I lose my course material?

We undertake to replace coursework for current students who have mislaid their lessons; that is those studying by email, who have not reached final exam stage. An administration charge may be applied, this will be advised at the time of application.

Current charges are a minimum of £19.50 for each module/part of the course. We do not undertake to send course material to students who have completed their studies in any subject.

21. Why are your course fees so much more reasonable than others?

We are passionate about making these courses ‘affordable for everyone’. With our marketing strategy it is highly unlikely that you will find accredited courses of this level, at more reasonable fees. We are simply ‘market leaders’, providing excellent courses at prices which are affordable for everyone. We are regarded as the ‘leading distance learning school’, training our students to ‘practitioner level’ in the major Holistic Therapies.

Our student following has tipped 40,000, which is a phenomenal achievement in 24 years of operation.

Please visit our Testimonials Page. Here you will see how pleased our students are with the service and coursework they receive from us. There is no way we would have reached the ‘dizzy heights of our success’, without such enthusiastic and positive feedback from everyone. Very rarely will a student come to us for just one course, and never be heard of again. Our success is moulded around the fact that our students stay with us and continue to enrol for more courses over several years.

Why not visit Our Graduates page. Their success stories abound!
