SNHS Dip. (Reflexology), SNHS Dip. (Indian Head Massage), SNHS Dip. (Flower Remedies), SNHS Dip. (Crystal Healing), SNHS Dip. (Hypnotherapy), SNHS Dip. (Aromatherapy), & SNHS Dip. (Colour Therapy)Originally from Camberley in Surrey, I have lived in Spain for the last 15 years. I have always been interested in Holistic Therapies. When working with a Hypnotherapist, (a long time ago) I saw the many benefits that hypnosis could bring. It influenced me a lot by showing me that a positive mind gave a positive lifestyle and prevented many illnesses. I started to take the holistic approach more seriously when my daughter was very ill and in intensive care. The nurse that was giving her 24 hour care was massaging her body and her reflex points. I then began studying Massage and Holistic Therapies.

I went to India to learn the Ayurvedic Massage which then led me to want to learn more about healing energy and meridian energy points, so I studied Reiki up to Master level, and then thankfully found The School of Natural Health Sciences where I discovered I could study to my heart’s content!! I have found that the courses that I have studied with the School of Natural Health Sciences have enabled me to be of more help to my clients, allowing me to treat the ‘whole’ problem. The Crystal Healing and Colour Therapy really enhance my Reiki treatments and widened my knowledge of their uses in connection with the chakras.

I also had felt that although my clients would come in for a massage, that was it until the next visit After learning Aromatherapy I was able to advise them how to help themselves, to run a special oil bath and burn oils to help them de-stress or help them to sleep so that their problem was being continuously treated instead of the therapy ending after the massage. I also advised my clients on the benefits of Flower Remedies so that they were able to continue treatment and they were extremely pleased with the ongoing ‘service’ they felt more cared for and felt their treatment was very personal.

The School of Natural Health Sciences Reflexology course was amazing. I could feel the problem in the feet even before coming to the problem in their body!! So I was able to treat neck or a shoulder problems, for example, not only by a direct massage on the problem area, but also on the reflex point – a double healing blast.

I had a couple of very shy clients who didn’t want the Ayurvedic massage and weren’t comfortable with the Reflexology, so I was able to apply the Indian Head Massage which was great and very beneficial. I have incorporated parts of both the Indian Head Massage and Reflexology into my Ayurvedic Massage and have had great results. So now after studying many therapies I am able to mix and match the therapies to fit my clients’ needs.

I really wanted to get the message out there, that there is more than just conventional medicine, that it is also important to prevent illness by taking time out to look after yourself with massages, meditation, energy balancing, oils and crystals. When ill, there is more that just medicine available to help. So I decided to start teaching as well. I now run courses from a Guest House and a Hotel on the Costa Brava for people who are interested in learning Ayurveda, Reiki, Tibetan Head Massage and Foot Massage, and for those who want to come on a relaxing Holistic Holiday with daily massage treatments, yoga, meditation and maybe even some sightseeing!!!

I am enjoying studying with The School of Natural Health Sciences, the flexibility and versatility of the courses is great. I am still completing courses in Kinesiology & Acupressure. Many of my clients suffer from stress, so long term it is not just a massage, oils, colours and energy healing they need. They also need advise so that they can cope better with the stress or rid their lives of stress. A lot of the time they need advice about food and life, so I will start to study Nutrition, Stress Management and Life Coaching with the School next.

With SNHS I have been given the freedom to study when I like and to change courses and the School has been able to meet all my needs.
