Richard Scott astounds us all!

Richard began his studies with the School of Natural Health Sciences in 2007 – enrolling for our Hypnotherapy course followed by our clinical Advanced Hypnotherapy/Psychotherapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) courses.

Richard’s innate understanding of psychology and use of hypnotic language served him well during his career in advertising and he continued to hone these skills until his interest in the mind inspired him to embark on a new vocation.

Richard’s formal training in psychotherapy and clinical hypnotherapy began in earnest and, once qualified, he never looked back.

Turning his attention to helping others, Richard combined psychology, NLP and CBT with traditional and modern hypnosis for the most effective results. He began offering his services at a local charity in his hometown of Scunthorpe, England, and then opened a small complimentary therapies clinic in Kingston upon Hull.

A unique opportunity saw him open his ‘first clinic’ on the campus at the University of Hull, where he treated university staff, students and the public alike. He took part in a series of university-based research projects as well as being involved in training various academic departments, including midwifery, nursing and business enterprise.

Richard then moved onto opening a larger clinic near the university and it was here that his career skyrocketed. His expertise was sought after by those outside England with some travelling from other parts of Europe to see him. His proven track record began to feature in national media which gained him worldwide acclaim. Clients spanned over 30 countries, including celebrities, sporting champions, royalty, government, Special Forces, esteemed medical practitioners and members of academia.

Richard moved to the east coast of Australia with his family in 2014. He continues to practice his craft internationally and has a calendar of speaking events, podcast and radio appearances scheduled for 2016, including a joint documentary production in the works.

Testimonial from a weight loss client – a young girl who was heartbroken over her eating addiction…

Here’s what Anna had to say…

“I now keep arriving at places half an hour early because I’m walking so much faster than I was before… and not even noticing. I’ve been swimming 5 days a week for the past 2 weeks and actually enjoying it… which makes a huge change since it’s normally such a chore. I even had to buy a new swimming costume.

So far I’ve lost 11 pounds (5 kg)… that’s the fastest any weight has ever fallen off.

My parents visited me and couldn’t believe how slim I looked… Now I have heaps of energy, even though I’m exercising a lot more. I’m actually amazed at how little I’m eating and how much energy I have compared to what I had before.” ~ Anna, Newcastle, United Kingdom

To which Anna’s parents added…

“Anna is so much more positive and completely different to the vulnerable young lady who sat in our lounge a few weeks ago crying her eyes out, before she had seen you.

The change is just incredible – and to be honest, I don’t know why the National Health Services don’t make more use of your skills, as it would cut down on many unnecessary operations as far as obesity is concerned.

The most amazing change, apart from the obvious ones, is the speed in which Anna eats now. We have not seen her eat so slowly, or enjoy her food as much, since she was around the age of 8 years old. She has always, since that age, sped through her food, almost embarrassingly, and it is a delight to have meals with her now.

Thank you so much. You really have changed her life and I am sure she will want to keep in touch with you as she is so proud of herself at the moment. It could have been such a different outcome if she had carried on comfort eating to the extent she was doing.”

Richard says: “Recently I’ve been concentrating on being interviewed on radio and Podcasts. Some links to a few interviews are on here http://www.mynd.works/media/podcasts/

Upon arriving in Australia (Brisbane), I became a full member of AAPHAN (The Australian Association of Professional Hypnotherapists and NLP Practitioners). We have twice-monthly meetings which include peer supervision and demonstrations.

I hold professional indemnity and public liability insurances, also a first aid certification.

I have recently been appointed as ‘Board Advisor – Australia’ for the Association of Weight Loss Hypnotherapists (AWLH) founded by public figure Steve Miller in the UK. This position allows me to share knowledge and help both the public and professionals who join the association”.

Breaking News!

Richard has just been elected President of the Australian Association of Professional Hypnotherapists And NLP (AAPHAN)!

Congratulations! – from us all at the School of Natural Health Sciences.
