My name is Gill Riley. Having worked in the legal profession for over 30 years in 2005 I decided to pursue a new career. Having discovered the benefits of holistic therapies, personally, I decided to turn my interest into knowledge. I began by enrolling on a Reflexology Course which lasted a year and in 2006 I graduated with a Level 3 Diploma in Gentle Touch™ Reflexology. As my interest in complementary therapies grew I subsequently completed courses in Thermal Auricular Therapy (Hopi Ear Candling), Reiki I & II, Crystal Healing and Emotional Freedom Technique.

I set up my own complementary therapy practice in January 2007 based in a therapy room created in the garden of my home. In 2008 I decided that I wished to study other therapies but did not want to spend time attending courses in the evenings and weekends and therefore decided to search the Internet for distance learning courses. When I found the website for the School of Natural Health Sciences I was impressed with the range of complementary therapy courses they offered and also how reasonably priced they were. Not having studied by distance learning before I was not sure how disciplined I would be in completing the work but from the moment I received my first lesson I could not wait to get started and still feel the same 12 months later!

My first course with the SNHS was Indian Face Massage and I particularly liked the idea of being able to study at my own pace but also receiving feedback from my own personal tutor as I completed each lesson. Having successfully completed this course I then went on, almost immediately, to enrol on the Stress Management and Professional Relaxation Therapy courses with the SNHS.

On 5th May I received confirmation from Julia that I had qualified as a Stress Management Consultant, achieving a Grade A, and I am hoping to complete the Professional Relaxation Therapy course in the next few weeks. I am now thinking about my next course with the SNHS the only problem is which one!

I would highly recommend the SNHS, and in fact have done so to my friends and fellow therapists, and look forward to enrolling on many other courses with them in the future.

Thank you to everyone at the SNHS particularly George and Julia for all your advice and support in my continuing journey.
