My Story

Formerly a receptionist in a security company, I enjoyed providing support to clients, but as much as I enjoyed my role there, I felt restless and that something was missing in my life.

I’ve always had a passion for helping people and was a carer for many of years. During that time various people told me that I would make a great social worker. I used to dream secretly about doing something of my own, but never thought I’d ever have an opportunity to study or qualify for anything.

In 2014, after reading a book about Rachelle Chapman’s life and the healing qualities she experienced from crystals, I did a Google search for some information on Crystals and Crystal Healing courses.

I found several schools that offered courses in Crystal Healing and amongst them was The School of Natural Health Sciences. I did write off to a couple of other institutions but found this School was most efficient to correspond with, my questions were answered promptly and the courses were affordable.

I requested some sample pages on Crystal Healing and was amazed at the amount of information the coursework offered. The fact that there were no time limits to finish the course and that the courses never expired was a bonus because I travel overseas a lot and work long hours.

When I started my first course, Colour Therapy, I didn’t realise how colours affect us in so many ways and enjoyed the course. I used what I had learned to help my family, friends and colleagues to be aware of how they can use colours in their homes to generate a more inviting and calm atmosphere.

At the end of the course, I was so excited to receive my certificate and becoming a qualified therapist that I wanted to continue studying. I realised that I was more interested in the mind and how it works so I changed my course from Crystal Healing to Psychotherapy & Counselling and passed with ‘Distinction’.

I believe that my own personal life experiences will greatly assist me in my chosen path as a counsellor.

I have since finished a course in Mindfulness which has touched every part of my life and is a course that I would recommend to anyone. I have found each lesson within the course very well presented and the level of detailed information exceptional.

I chose Tutored distance learning study because it enables me to ask questions, and my tutors have always been quick to respond, giving me useful feedback and encouragement to continue after each lesson submitted.

Thanks to studying with the School of Natural Health Sciences and the success I’ve had helping my family, colleagues, friends and others I now have an opportunity to start my own business. It’s something I’ve always dreamed of and is now a reality.

I have recently moved to Newcastle and set up my business, Star Health and Wellbeing. I offer in-office consultations and a mobile and phone counselling service. I also provide Mindfulness workshops.

I’m passionate about making a difference in people’s lives, both mentally and physically, so they can be free from limiting beliefs and, step by step, change their lives. I enjoy every moment of my new role in life and business.

I can’t thank The School of Natural Health Sciences enough for helping me achieve my dream, something I didn’t think it was possible to accomplish via long-distance learning. I would encourage anyone to take their courses with The School of Natural Health Sciences asI have done.

I still have two courses to complete and intend to continue future studies with the School.

I would like to give a special thank you to Julia Vaughan-Griffiths, Principal of the School, Lynne Jones, Tutor’s Office Manager, all of my incredible tutors and the fantastic team at the School of Natural Health Sciences. It’s a pleasure being a student with you and wonderful to be a graduate from your esteemed School.

Thank you,

Adrienne Deasey
