Students obtaining 80% average pass marks will be awarded an accredited SNHS Diploma.
Course Description
Anatomy is the study of the form and structure of the body, its systems and organs. Physiology is the study of how cells, tissues and organisms function and how the parts of the body work and relate to each other.
All professional Holistic Therapists will find that a sound grasp of human Anatomy and Physiology provides a useful foundation to their therapy studies. Every therapist should aim to complete this course.
Our course covers the subject from the basic structure of the living cell, the tissues they make up and each of the major systems and organs of the human body. The course assumes no prior knowledge of anatomy and physiology and is completely comprehensive.
The student will be introduced to the language of anatomy and the way in which the position of organs and other body parts are described. This is followed by the description of each of the body’s systems and their organs including the cell, the skeletal system, the integumentary system, the muscular system, the nervous system, the endocrine system, the respiratory system, the cardiovascular system, the lymphatic system, the digestive system and the reproductive system.
Detailed knowledge of Anatomy and Physiology is the sound base on which the student can build on in order to become a knowledgeable and valued Holistic Practitioner.

I wasn’t expecting to have loved this subject so much, but I found it completely engrossing!! So, now looking forward to completing my Aromatherapy foundation, and am working through my ‘case studies’.

Self Study: The self-study option is a faster method of study for those who feel they may not need that support. The Self Study team review each part of your course, rather than lesson by lesson, and the team will assess your work and inform you if you are making serious errors. You will not receive feedback on your work, and you may be asked to repeat an answer paper which does not reach our threshold of acceptance.
Tutored: The tutor option is for students who would like feedback on their work and who may require more support in their studies. Our dedicated Tutor Team will review your work lesson by lesson and give you feedback, where required. You can ask questions, and the team can guide you to success by helping you navigate the course material.

There are no time restrictions, you simply study and return work when you wish. Our courses do not expire, so take your time and enjoy the gentle learning curve. You simply work through the assignments at your own pace, free from the restrictions and pressures of working to deadlines.
On average students take approximately 200 hours, 3 – 4 months, to complete a non advanced course. Around 300 hours 5 – 6 months for an advanced course plus time for practical work with your volunteers for any hands-on therapy.
This is simply a guide; everyone studies at their own pace.

There are question papers at the end of each lesson, and a final question paper at the end of each of the courses which are all conducted via email. No attendance is required.
The Final Exam is classed as an open book exam so you can consult your course material to help if necessary.
