As the Summer madness picks up, and we find ourselves with less energy, time and motivation for a proper workout sesh, our fitness levels quickly start degrading. The hardest part in maintaining a fitness schedule, is simply finding the motivation to push forward. When it comes to music, we can actually use it as a tool to keep us alert, in-gear and moving forward with a positive frame of mind. It’s no scientific secret that sound waves, and their range of frequencies, have an impact on us physiologically. Even if we don’t notice it happening, subconsciously we are being affected by every single sound that we hear.
One way to combat all the noise pollution, is by drowning out the misery and frustrations of this world with some dance inducing pumped-up tracks. So flood your airwaves with good vibes and stay on target with a little help from your Summer Playlist.
Here we present a completely eclectic mix of groovy summer sounds. You will be introduced to fresh new dance tracks that have mysteriously avoided the mainstream, although we have included a few chart toppers. We all need some help with staying motivated! Bring on those summer songs!

Summer Playlist Nº1
Everyday – Gene Farris
Gene Farris is in the new school of Chicago DJ/producers and his sound looks back to disco and funk. Gene says of his music, “I carry the Chicago banner, the house music banner!”
This hot, new, tech house track will make you feel happy as soon as you start listening! The repetitive “Everyday of my Life” that can be heard in the background, at first seems annoying, but actually it’s inspiring and energising! Run faster and work harder with this track!
Summer Playlist Nº2
Shine on Me – Dan Auerbach
A great, groovy summer song, that features guitar work from former Dire Straits frontman Mark Knopfler. Taken from Dan’s second solo album ‘Waiting On A Song’ this tune reminds us a little of The Traveling Wilburys. It’s a plucky, uptempo, jaunty little number that will have you dancing along in seconds.
Summer Playlist Nº3
Feels – Calvin Harris ft. Pharrell Williams, Katy Perry, Big Sean
A lighthearted song that you must have heard already on the radio. We love it for the Pharrell verses alone! Spin Magazine is in agreement with us, they said in a recent review: “With their powers combined (Calvin, Pharrell, Katy), those three are in grave danger of summoning a Captain America of corniness. That they manage to avoid that fate is mostly thanks to Pharrell, who’s the most at home on a funky and organic backing track like this one.”
Summer Playlist Nº4
Fragile – Tiggs Da Author
London-based poet, rapper and singer-songwriter Tiggs Da Author has been dubbed “The Next Pharrell”. Fragile is an unreleased track, used by Virgin Active in their first ever global marketing campaign dubbed Go There. For those of you who have Apple Music, Spotify, Deezer or other streaming services you’ll have to listen there as the track is not currently available on YouTube – below is Virgin’s video to give you a taste of the vibe. Tiggs explains where his unique feel-good sound comes from: “There’s a massive soul influence in there but you get jazz as well. There’s a little hip-hop vibe as well. So I would say it’s eclectic soul.” Eclectic soul – we’ll have some of that please! Turn it up!
Summer Playlist Nº5
Feel The Music – PBH & Jack Shizzle ft. Emilie Adams
“UK duo PBH & Jack Shizzle are rapidly emerging as the go-to guys for top level club bootlegs and original music of true distinction.” This track is a lovely vocal house record, with energetic piano hooks perfecting the vibe. This is one of those tunes that will take any crowd sky high – the ultimate feel-good house track!
Summer Playlist Nº6
Middle – DJ Snake ft. Bipolar Sunshine
Although this song is not new, its one of those grooves that still makes the dance floor heave! The track is the lead single from DJ Snake’s debut album Encore. Bipolar’s smooth vocals blend beautifully with Snake’s infectious backdrop. It’s a stylish blend of wispy percussion and tropical beats!
Summer Playlist Nº7
Swalla (Muffin Remix) – Jason Derulo ft. Nicki Minaj & Ty Dolla Sign
A fantastic remix of Derulo’s hook-filled banger. The monster chorus makes this the likely soundtrack to every party for the next six months. The electronic-infused Caribbean sound is certainly getting a lot of love in the clubs. Dubbed the “dopest track ever” by Derulo himself – the groove will certainly have you working out harder and faster!
Summer Playlist Nº8
The Kooks – Forgive & Forget (Isabella ‘Machine’ Summers Remix)
This groovy remix of the 2015 classic by the Kooks, has us pressing the repeat button… repeatedly! Playful percussion, fuzzy bass lines and an undercurrent of ’70s funk. This really funky vibe should help you run, or walk, with a grin on your face!
Summer Playlist Nº9
Nicolas Haelg – Mind Games (Original Mix)
Sexy sax, percussion-filled beats and a very funky guitar. What more could you want?
Summer Playlist Nº10
Parov Stelar – Step Two ft. Lilja Bloom
Parov Stelar, one of the pioneers of Electro Swing, is an Austrian musician, composer, producer and DJ. His musical style is based on a mix of jazz, house, electro and breakbeat. This track, taken from his new album The Burning Spider, is a great toe-tapping, uptempo workout song.
